Magix aquires Sony’s Video Editing and Music Software Portfolio
This is incredibly good news when you think about it…
Sony Creative Software was a staple at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show. They were there every year. People couldn’t wait to go to the huge Vegas Pro User Group Meeting on Monday nights. Then last year, there was no User Group Meeting at NAB and speculation that Vegas Pro development had been put into “maintenance mode”. Then this year, there was no Sony Creative Software at NAB at all. Let’s face it folks… it was the end of SCS. (very sad indeed)
We have all seen what happened to ACID Pro 7. Sony stopped development 5 years ago and they are still selling today in 2016 when it hasn’t been updated since Jan. 6, 2011 !!! That could easily have been the future for Vegas Pro.
Now we know that Vegas Pro (and who knows maybe even ACID Pro) have a chance at a future with a company (MAGIX) that is dedicated to building great multi-media software.
Vegas Pro has found a new home and will live on. That’s good news any way you cut it.
