    Hi all.

Im using the magic bullet looks suite on my cs3 ae composition, and aside from not being able to use presets, it works great. Until i try and render. The render (even a low quality high speed one) will abruptly stop, and a message will pop up saying “After Effects has crashed after trying to invoke “looks suite”. The weirdest thing is that this crash will generally be a minute or so into the render, meaning that many of the first frames with the exact same look settings have gone through fine. magic bullet looks isnt exactly new, and its meant to be compatible with cs3 (like i said, presets dont work, but everything else does), so any ideas why I have this this crash?

    Cheers

    Dave

You might try rendering out as numbered frames rather than as a self-contained Quicktime file. That may solve the issue for you.

I have noticed that Magic Bullet’s code isn’t always the cleanest and anything you can do to simplify and dumb it down tends to help.

I got sick of its unreliability (couldnt load presets), so Im just using the curves effect in color correction to get the desired look. I will hopefully try and fix it when I have more time, as it is expensive software, Im just annoyed it doesnt work straight up.
    Thanks mate

Red Giant’s customer service stinks. They’ve always been one of the worst in the business and because of that, we don’t use them if we can avoid it.

    My sympathies are with you.
