All of my footage is NTSC but when I apply Magic Bullet it gives the warning that Magic Bullet cannot be used to convert PAL video to NTSC. When I open the interpret Footage window for the clip, After Effects shows the frame rate as 29.97 and the info window shows pixel size as 720 X 486. So far Red Giant hasn’t been any help at all. Anyone out there with a guess?

Follow these steps and let me know if it helps.

    Import your footage.

Drag said footage onto new comp icon at bottom of project window (thisd ensure comp settings match file)

Right click on footage in project window and remove de-interlacing (set to none)

Change composition frame rate to 23.976

Apply magic bullet and click auto set-up.

Please do steps in this order and let me know if it helps…this is how I use the bullet and I have never yet had any issues.

By the way…what happened to the MB fourm that used to be available here on the Cow?

I followed your steps to the letter, but under messages Magic Bullet says it’s now able to convert my PAL interlaced footage to 23.976 fps.

Here’s the issue: my footage is not PAL. It’s the same NTSC footage I used yesterday, and After Effects thinks the projects and compositions I created prior to this morning now contain PAL clips. I had this problem a few weeks ago and was only solved by reinstalling After Effects.
