I’m shooting butterfly eggs as they hatch and need to frame really tight (they’re about 1/32″). Last season, I shot some nice footage of the same subject with a consumer Sony (single chip, DVhi8) and I could put the lense almost right up against those puppies. I just purchased my DVX (so I’m still experimenting with it) and I also purchased some diopters (+1,+2,+4), but my attempts to get in close are not as successful as my experience with the Sony, despite the addition of the diopters.

I’m going to try removing the lense hood, so I can physically get closer, and I thought I’d crank up the light a bit, but I’m open to suggestions????
