  • MacPro late 2013 – I cannot get the 1920×1080 resolution of the external monitor anymore

    Hi,
I’ve used for 6 months my MACPRO late 2013 with one display apple cinema display (dvi) and one video external monitor JVC 1080×1920 (dvi) for video editing with FCPX.
This setup worked perfectly with these connections :
display 1 : thunderbolt output through DVI adapter for apple hd cinema
video monitor : HDMI output through DVI adapter for JVC monitor

In order to be more comfortable with FCPX I got a second apple cinema display. Then the connections became :
display 1 : thunderbolt output through DVI adapter
video monitor : HDMI output through DVI adapter
display 2 : thunderbolt output through dual-link DVI Adapter (I read if more than two DVI displays are used a dual-link adapter is required for any additional dvi display).

With this new configuration I Iost the 1080×1920 resolution of the external monitor and then it wasn’t recognized by FCPX as AV output anymore.

Furthermore when I come back to the initial configuration – which was working before – I don’t manage to retrieve the 1920×1080 resolution for the external monitor anymore. Monitor preferences propose only 720p for this monitor.
I tried to restore pram and smc with no result.

    Any idea ?
Thank you in advance for helping me.
    Philippe
