MacMini Recording from ATEM TVS
Considering a MacMini to record the SDI program feed from ATEM TV Studio. Will this work? Connect SDI> Thunderbolt using Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder ($145).
What software is best for the live capture on a MacMini? How well does the Blackmagic Media Express software do this? I’ve seen some concern that the audio doesn’t stay in sync throughout an hour-long recording of a church service – anyone else have experience with this? Though this will be trimmed & touched up later on an edit station computer using either single-license Final Cut X or Premiere CS6, would a MacMini have sufficient power to run a pro app for live capture purposes of a 720p input? Also, I’m not familiar with the consumer app, iMovie, and whether this could be capable of capturing a live feed. Experienced recommendations appreciated.
