    Hey all,

I guess Mackie is closing out all the analog mixers ’cause I got this for 200 bucks! Anyways, the manual doesn’t show a configuration including a Decklink card so I’m stumped about something.

I have the audio xlr outputs from the Decklink going into the first two channels on top of the mixer. Then the xlr main outputs from the back of the mixer going into the Beta deck (UVW 1800) then out to the Decklink.

Also in the loop is a JVC DV deck and a VHS deck, both of which go through separate channels on top of the mixer.

Here’s the strangeness. The audio from any Beta tape registers on the deck itself, and I can hear it through headphones to the deck, but doesn’t register anywhere on the mixer, so it doesn’t play through to my speakers. But, the audio from the other two decks play through and show up on the mixer’s meter. Stranger still, audio plays through from the Beta to FCP where it shows up on it’s meters, and I can capture it no problem.

What am I missing? Is this Mac related, since the card lives in there? Am I missing an audio prefs setting? I do have the Mackie manual, so if anyone can point me to some help, it would be much appreciated.

    Hey Richard,

This seems to work great, my only other question is why don’t both channels of lights on the Mackie’s meter show up? I get two channels of audio on FCP’s meter and on the Beta deck and the JVC, but not on the board.

    Richard,

Yes, it was the solo buttons and I didn’t have “main mix” pushed in. So it’s all working perfectly now, thanks for your help.
