Just to clear things up – a bit late:

All of Final Cut Studio WILL run on a Mac Mini (and hence a MB as it has the same integrated graphics chipset).
This includes Motion – although it’s pretty slow. FCP runs fine. DVDSP runs fine, but it’s pretty sluggish, as it is on my 1.33 PB. I have not had ONE instance of instability from 5.1 on my 1.66 DuoCore Mini.

If you expect to see any big speed increases from any of the pro apps, don’t get a MacBook, get the MBP. I use my Mini at home to run compressor overnight sometimes, but I did recently compile a fairly complicated DVD from FCP projects with Motion designed menus in DVDSP…. Just expect to see a fair bit of the ‘Spinning Beach Ball of Death”.

I wouldn’t even consider a Macbook if you are looking for a speedy portable edit – spend more and get the MBP.
