Macbook Pro Retina First Impressions
UPS delivered the MBPr this morning, I’ve just spent 30 minutes or so testing CS6 on it. Its a 16GB with the basic 256 GB SSD.
First impressions are very positive. Screen looks terrific and the UI on After Effects looks great at the resolution setting of “Best for Retina” which appears to be 1440×900.
It can be scaled to to 2880×1800 for which I need a magnifying glass.
Performance is snappy and responsive. The screen is crisp and easy to read, no fuzziness whatsoever.
Installed the latest CUDA drivers and enabled CUDA for both Mercury Playback and Raytracing, works just as one would hope. So far so good.
