    Some history…

    It’s been known since the Macbook Pro came out that a high-pitched whine can be heard from most units. It is usually associated with video card use…the more video intensive the task, the louder the whine.

    I heard a week or so back that new units no longer have this problem. I also heard of someone having their logic board replaced for un-related issue and the problem went away. Apparently a solution to this problem has been found and built in to the newest designs.

    The reason I bring this up again is that Apple has finally acknowledged it. They only suggest that you “Contact Applecare” about it, but the fact that the website mentions it is probably good news.

    I can’t say for sure what contacting Applecare is going to get you, but presumably they’ll do something. I just wanted to pass the news along to everyone!
