I am going to get a new Macbook Pro but wanted to be sure it would work with Final Cut Pro. This is what I want to get. Cheapest MacBook Pro but I’m going to upgrade the memory to 4GB

    Macbook Pro
    15-inch: 2.4GHz
    2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB memory
    200GB hard drive
    Double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256 MB

The things that threw me off on the final cut tech specs were:

Minimum Requirements to Install All Final Cut Studio Applications
    * An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)

    Color-Specific Requirements
    * The standard graphics card in any Mac Pro, 17-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac, or 2.5GHZ or faster Power Mac G5 Quad.

    Thanks!

That MBP will be fine but it will not run Color very well. IIRC, the screen is too small to have a high enough resolution.

    Hi,

    I have a similar question.
    I got a Macbook Pro 15”, 2,6GHz IntelCore Duo
    4GB memory
    250Gb hard drive
    NVIDIA GeForce8600GT with 512 MB

but it does not work with the Final Cut Pro HD 4.5 coming with the Final Cut Studio package. It signals a configuration problem, and a missing AGP card…?
How could I make it work?
    Thanks, Zsuzsa

Press the escape key when the error message comes up. Or upgrade to a version that works with an Intel machine.

    All the best,

    Tom
