Macbook Pro express esata card plus external esata Raid Sonnettech or Caldigit?
I own the last “real” 2008 15″ Macbook Pro which has an express card slot and 2 fire ports:
I’m looking for a portable bus powered RAID storage solution and have nailed it down to:
Sonnetech’s Fusion F2 https://www.sonnettech.com/product/fusionf2.html
and Caldigit’s VR mini https://www.caldigit.com/VR_mini/
Both have received great reviews and from what I understand, The Fusion F2 is a software based RAID and the VR mini is Hardware based. Does this really matter? Which is a better purchase between these two?
Also, I’m looking for an express esata card. Is the Sonnetech Temp Pro still the best of the bunch?

How does it compare to Caldigit’s FASTA-1ex ExpressCard?

I’m looking to use these in combination with an AJA IOHD. Thanks for your feedback.
