My beloved 17″ macbook pro finally died after five or six years and I’m looking to get a new one. I’m curious if anybody knows the relative improvement in performance running creative cloud apps (primarily premiere pro and After Effects) between the 2.3 GHz quad core and the 2.6 GHz quad core. I’m leaning toward the 2.6 since the $200 difference seems minimal compared to the total cost, but I would appreciate it if anybody has any knowledge about it.

FYI, I will be using it for editing HD video and probably will be jumping up to 4K within the next year or two.

    thanks,

    Mike

The ~10% greater clock speed for the CPUs is definitely an advantage. I’d consider it worth the extra couple hundred dollars.

Thanks, Todd. That’s what I figured but I didn’t want to just make the assumption. Based on your signature, it seems that you would know.
