    Hey Guys.

I’ve been trying to find this on here but haven’t been able to…

Anyone running a first gen Macbook Pro unibody 2.53 with SL and 8gb ram?

I know it won’t make a ton of difference in AE, but might give me some space for running other stuff at the same time?

if this is your macbook pro, then yes, it should support 8gb of ram.

and you may see some performance gains in ae if you enable multiprocessing. this will allow ae to utilize nearly all the 8gb of ram by running a render engine for each core in your mac. or you can leave that off and render in ae while working in another app with less impact on performance.
