I didn’t say that it is not working, but it is a bit on the slow side 🙂Do you have worked in 1080sf24 on an 8 core MacPro?
If yes I would be interested how you would rate the speed gains for general RT work.
Ah yes and I have a Sata raid which Aja system test rates at about 90-100 MB. Is yours faster? And if so, do you reckon that makes a bigger difference then a faster CPU?
Thanks for your time!
Cheers

[Anthony C] “I know on the AJA web site they recommend that you have a MBP Core2 Duo. I have the first generation 17′ 2.16 Intel Core Duo ” you laptop is a Dual Core it is the bare minimum to work with the IoHD. “anthony ” what part of bare min” did not come across
working on a laptop barely there means that while it might work for some tasks- somethings might not and the proportion of things that will not work for you goes up with the level of work you are trying to do.

January 17, 2008 at 2:43 pmIt’s pretty simple, really. AJA has posted specs for a reason. If you decide to try and use your laptop with the ioHD, please do not get mad at AJA for making a product that doesn’t work. I would go with their recommended specs. I have talked to a few people that have the first gen machine and they can get 720 to work, but not 1080. And even then, 720 is iffy. Get yourself a new computer is the best advice that I personally can give you.

January 17, 2008 at 4:39 pmThanks All,
Yes I talked to AJA. Jerry at AJA said that my laptop would work as long as use Pro Res. I was just making sure from users of the IO HD.
