  • Mac will not wake from sleep when editing- goes into “turbo mode”

Posted by Scott Erlinder on March 12, 2007 at 7:00 pm

G5 quad 2gig ram, BlkMagic multibridge, FCP5.1.4, dual 20″ apple monitors, 1 Panasonic LCD HDTV (client)

When leaving the machine for enough time for it to sleep, machine fans start up at full speed, machine will not wake from sleep.
Must shut down and restart- andy ideas? Not sure this is a Blackmagic Multibridge problem or not….

I would turn off all sleep functions in System prefs – they only confuse FCP. I don’t think it’s peculiar to Blackmagic cards.

    Yeah turn that off completely.

Even our protools machines did this till we disabled the sleep function.

Macs are sure loud as hell when they sleep don’t they?
It’s almost as loud as the goodyear blimp.
    sounds like a wind tunnel.
