  mac vs linux

  Hi guys,
  I’m looking at setting up a new suite with the full Resolve panel.
  I was always going to go with a MAC setup, but with the (most likely) demise of the MacPro and the extra horsepower that I can get out of linux (and WIN7) for the same cost, I’m wondering if any one out there has gone with linux over MAC and if so, what were the reasons?

  I know you can add extra GPU’s on the linux box, but wondering what are the limitations? How many GPU’s can go inside a HP Z800?

  Lastly, how are existing studios with Resolve on linux handle ProRes material coming from Alexa?
