As the biz is a little slow in January we decided to look at some alternate event video playback methods. We have been using the Edirol very successfully, but one of the younger members of our group suggested doing it through a Macbook Pro.

This does make sense, all I need is a prog that allows us to Firewire clips in or import the DV file directly, trim the clip and play back with a countdown.

Anybody had experience of a decent RELIABLE prog?

I have done playback from FCP of a 17″ macbook pro and a firewire 800 drive with excellent results for over a year, this last show I did all in HDV off the laptop thru the Edirol 440 switcher, stunning picture
