Mac version: “-10” error message
If you’re using the Mac version of particleIllusion 3.0 or particleIllusion SE and you’re getting an error message something like: “License error: (-10)”, here’s what you should try.
First, have you changed anything on your system? External drives, hardware, software update, etc. If so, please let me know what you changed! Something is triggering the -10 error and I don’t yet know what it is.
Usually I suggest the following when you get a -10:
1) Restart the computer. Sometimes that clears the error.
2) If you’re using iDisk, eject it (whatever the correct terminology is). Some users have reported that iDisk interferes with the activation.
3) Last thing to do is delete the following file:
Users/Shared/Ticket/particleIllusion.Ticket
then activate again at the website.Whenever you activate, record the “request number” and activation code. It’s possible that your machine is toggling between 2 different “request numbers”. If that’s the case, if you have the corresponding activation code for each request number then you can just use that instead of going throught the activation process on the website every time.
