  • Mac update 10.5.7 killed my AE Open GL!

Posted by Steven Williams on May 16, 2009 at 9:16 am

I have a new mac pro 2009, 8 core. Under 10.5.6, Open GL was fully supported in after effects on my ATI Radeon HD 4870 card.

After the update, OGL has disappeared as an option in after effects cs4.

Open GL still works in Cinema 4D, after the update.

    So I’m concerned.

Anyone else feeling the same pain?

Anyway to kick AE into using OGL?

    Many thanks

i’m amazed that you got AE and OpenGL to work together in the first place. if anything causes AE to crash, 99% of the time, it’s OpenGL.

“if anything causes AE to crash, 99% of the time, it’s OpenGL” – you got that right.

Open GL worked for me in CS3, not CS4 though.
