My boss needs a promo playable on his cell phone
I’m using AE on a mac and trying different outputs but i don’t have WMV format.. how do i get that?
is there another compression i could try?
maybe he just needs to download the proper codec?

You should probably invest in Flip4Mac, but I think mp4 would probably play on his cellphone. You can get free mp4 converters on the Internet.

amit, i tried the mp4, but i believe it is encased still in a quicktime format. if i could get an AVI mp4 that would be great

Then I guess you should either get Flip4Mac which is pretty cheap or simply take the file to a PC and convert it there.

that might not be a bad alternative, i’d only have to wait until i got home on my own pc to convert it. (we run all macs here.) .. oh and now i recognize flip4mac by the green wmv icon. i used it at another studio and it was fantastic. plus it’s only a few bucks : )

If you’ve got Final Cut on one of the machines it might also be able to convert to WMV as far as I can recall.
    BTW: have you tried this:

Check out a program for the mac called VisualHub. It converts from quicktime to just about any other format that’s worth worrying about. You can try it out free and use it for up to a two minute file without buying it. Of course, you should buy it just because it’s pretty cool and useful.

    Visualhub rocks.

Great for .mp4’s and well, okay for .wmv
I think for the money (basically nothing) it’s the fastest, best .mp4 converter I’ve run across.
