At the moment, I’m probably buying a Mac Pro, 2.66, with 2 gigs of ram, 250GB hard drive, which comes with a 7300GT video card. I have Final Cut studio 1, and my question is primarily about the video card. I do SD off line editing, no fancy effects work, mostly documentaries. I do not want to have to render every dissolve and simple motion effect. (I understand that layered effects usually need to be rendered) Is this determined by the video card or the RAM? Should I upgrade the video card (and to which one)? Or am I going to need 4 gigs of ram? thanks.
