mac pro internal softraid 0 question for running Resolve
Hi guys
Sorry if this is a silly question
I’m curious to know if by running an internal soft raid 0, if it reduces the performance of the computer compared to running an external raid , and by how much, would this affect the way Resolve performs in any way? would I even notice a degradation in performance during grading a session?
every now and then I get a slowdown in performance when working, controls start to lag in response a bit, especially when the session has been going for sometime (a couple of hours)
I know that by using the internal scopes you get a performance hit, I’ll be getting ultrascope soon to avoid this, but I thought if I should maybe drift away from internal soft raids if they are also
a contributor to performance hits, or if this slow down is a normal occurrence after sometime, don’t know much about ram cache cleaning, should I be rebooting every time this happens.anyone else having slight performance degradation over a period of time the computer has been on? no other programs open or running on the background of course
I remember reading that soft raids take a bit of processing power, but that was an old article, may be this is not an issue with later computers
anyway, this was mainly a soft raid question, if anyone knows if they are reliable for performance and consistency
I use Softraid 4.3 for mac https://www.softraid.com/
