  • Mac pro hangs during bot after decklinnk driver update

I have a problem with my mac pro hanging, just as you see the desktop image appear. nothing happens, the only thing that works is ejecting the cd-tray button.

This happened after I installed the decklink 6.4 drivers. I uninstalled these in safemode, and reinstalled 6.2, but the computer still hangs at the same moment.

The only way to get the mac to start up properly is to uninstall the drivers. I have used this card for half a year and I have had no problems with it..

I booted the mac pro in windows and the decklink works fine there.

    Has anyone experienced something similar??

    My computer setup:

    Intel Mac pro 2.66 ghz
    4 GB ram
    Decklink Extreme HD
    Tiger 10.4.10 (everything updated)

I hope someone can help me! Any thoughts on my problem is very welcome!

I have the same setup and I’m not having that problem. Did you uninstall 6.2 before you installed the 6.4 drivers? I usually uninstall the older driver before I update. Also, check the “Accounts” preference pane in System Preferences, click on the login tab and see what is loading at startup. You may have a third party item that is conflicting at startup.

    Good luck!

It seems I have solved the problem. When I installed the 6.4 drivers it switched the video desktop on. I haven
