Just wondering of the officially supported cards for MAC Pro, is the Quadro 4000 the best option (not worried about price – only performance). Note – we will not be getting a PC supported card that has been flashed to work on MAC – only an officially supported regular MAC graphics card.

    Thx

Of the “official” Mac ones the Q4000 is the fastest… and has the most RAM. I’m on a Mac Resolve, however, I am experimenting using the Windows version as it ends up being more cost effective for multi GPU systems. At the point ProRes output is the main hang up if you go WIn.

The Mac GTX 285 is faster than the Quadro 4000.

FYI, this is what makes the cheaper GTX285 faster:

    Quadro 4000 Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 89.6 GB/s
    GTX 285 Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 159 GB/s
