Mac Pro firmware
Just ran the Mac Pro firmware updater from software update and now the fan is on extremeley loudly as soon as I boot-up. Also, there is no power light on the front of the Mac Pro tower. I read somewhere that this was supposed to improve fan performance but is has worsened it dramatically.
Mac Pro 2 X 3GHz Dual-Core running 10.9.10
Any ideas? I have tried resetting the PRAM, but nothing changed. Also, I cannot shutdown consisstenly, I have to power-down with a hard reset.

That must be the problem you are running 10.9.10
I would make an appointment at the genius bar at the local apple store. Perhaps the firmware update didn’t install right.
