January 8, 2020 at 3:37 pmFrom what I can gather, this means you get 4 additional T3 connectors from each MPX module, regardless of whether it is a 580x, Pro Vega II or Vega II Duo. You can connect each monitor to the GPU, and then they will be available as a full screen monitor out in FCPX and Resolve?

Not Resolve. Full screen video from Resolve requires one of the BMD i/o units (and not with an eGPU either).

January 8, 2020 at 4:40 pmHmm, from an article on fcp.co and a few hints from some other people, I heard that a thunderbolt 3 output direct from GPU could be fullscreen video out in Resolve 16.1.2??

That would tend to be contrary to how Blackmagic has operated thus far. You can make the viewer fullscreen, I believe, but that’s not the same as fullscreen video. You can, of course, do that in FCPX. You also used to be able to do that with Premiere Pro, but it seems to have quit working for me.

January 8, 2020 at 9:32 pmFYI, for those considering the new XDR, colorists are giving it a major thumbs-down as a grading monitor; see the full thread (especially the more recent posts) at https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=104153

This article talks about how the XDR display can be used as a full screen out via thunderbolt 3 from resolve and fcpx

Thanks. Reading this and the BMD thread, it does seem like there’s a special arrangement between Apple and BMD to allow this, which is new. Interesting, since that potentially offsets the cost of buying BMD hardware with a less costly display.

January 9, 2020 at 1:17 pmCorrect. I had missed that before. It’s Video Clean Feed under the Workspace pulldown. Thanks.
