I have recently invested in a Mac Pro 2,66 with 3GB of memory and are planing on upgrading my Final Cut Studio to Final Cut Studio 2. I am Thus wundering if the new version will benefit from more memory. Doing a search in the forum talked about the benefit of having 8GB when working on a 8 core model due to the utilisation of the 8 cores. Is that do to the 8 core or would my mac benefit from more memory as well?

You’d also benefit from more RAM… 4 gigs is probably the least amount you’d want to work with. Motion is especially RAM hungry, and running more than one app at a time will also be faster with more RAM.

    Hi Jerry

Thanks for the Info. I am happy to see that the price memory is now more reasonable than It was when the model was released. Haven
