I’ve recently upgraded all my OSX MAcs and their software (AE, Creative Suite, etc.)I’ve been experiencing some glitches, and am wondering if anyone has insight… Problem: I am no longer able to “hide” after effects while I can hide any other open apps. I also can’t scrub through output in a cached ram preview, when the playhead is “parked”, then that frame redraws, & so on. My quicktime renders don’t playback totally realtime either..I notice a couple hesitations on full res movies when that didn’t used to be an issue with Quicktime 6.x & OS 10.3.x….So has anyone had experiences with these or other problems related to upgrading? Sorry for the “off topic” nature of this post, I really don’t want to be a system administrator, I want to have my art programs work so I can create.

I’m not so sure that the programs are art but I think I know what you mean.

( I am no longer able to “hide” after effects)
Check preferences there is a setting to use mac shorts.

(I also can’t scrub through output in a cached ram preview)
Check the comp window render settings – It’s the little screen icon with a lighten bolt over it – at the bottom of you comp window. I think this defaults to opengl which doesn’t work well on most of the mac video cards in even slightly older machines.

Nice one on the “use system shortcut keys”(face is red)…I had no luck with the preview, I had the preferences set for adaptive resolution, Also tried to toggle fast previews off or wireframe and get no response when moving the playhead through a cached area.

Yes, the programs are the tools. We are the artists.

    thanks for the response.
