When will the Mac drivers be finished? I’m running FCP 5.0 with a DL HDPro and the latest drivers but I’m having numerous problems and with every release they are still the there. Don’t get me wrong it works but there are significant audio issues with DL and DVC Pro decks. For one my Panasonic 150 DVC Pro HD decks cannot read the audio from HD SDI from the DL. It just cuts in and out. I’ve tried all sync settings in the DL settings and inside the deck and it will not work. AES works fine but that means I can only use 2 channels instead of the 8 that the deck can accept. Also I finally realized that in capturing with any of the BM codecs the audio is either 12 channels or nothing. The selector is grayed out for setting how many channels you want to input. If you select any of the Mac default codecs like DVC Pro or Firewire the setting becomes active again. Strangely if you log a clip for later capture you can go into the clip settings and then get the selector and set how many tracks you want to capture before you capture it. Pretty slow way to do it though.

You can adjust directly in the Capturetool, which audiochannels you want to record.

“The selector is grayed out for setting how many channels you want to input.”

That is correct. That is the number of audio channels, which your hardware can process. That can not be changed, is not meaningful also.

    Robert,

There are indeed a few issues right now with the current drivers, but I haven’t noticed the ones you’re mentioning. I have a decklink HD card, and a panasonic DVCpro-50 deck. I have found that I have to set deck control to “Panasonic RS-422” rather than Sony to get audio to work correctly. Believe it or not, a good power cycle on the deck also often helps with mysterious issues.

Why would there be a setting for the number of channels your hardware can process? And why would the other codecs not have it greyed out? And also why would you be able to adjust this in the clip settings menu prior to capture?

Sorry for one thing. I figured out what I was doing wrong in the capture window although it doesn’t make much sense to me that that selector would be greyed out for BM but active for other codecs. The audio into the DVC Pro HD still doesn’t work though and I have mentioned this a couple of times before with no real response. It works fine for Sony decks but not Panasonic.
