  • Mac Cinema Display on PC?

I have been doing more and more editing on Vegas and less on my Mac-based Media 100. But I really miss using my 22″ Mac Cinema Display. I’m checking around, looking for cards that I can put in my PC to drive the Cinema Display so that I can use it for Vegas diting. Has anyone here done that successfully? (BTW, I think the 22″ Cinema Display is different in this regard from the larger ones, so this might have to be a 22″-specific solution.)

    TIA for any help.

Any modern graphics card for the PC has a DVI output. You should be able to use just about any recent graphics card. If your PC is relatively recent I bet it’s graphics card already has DVI.

According to Apple, only the 30″ model requires a dual-link DVI connection. For the smaller cinema displays a normal DVI connection will be sufficient. Just make sure that the video card supports the required resolution over DVI (the analog resolution capabilities may be much higher than DVI).

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I will probably buy a new card anyway because I’d like to operate with two monitors and I don’t think th existing card is dual channel. But the answers here have helped me. Thanks!

I’m using what I think is a 22″ cinema display on a PC. It’s the plastic one with a kickstand, right?

It was originally on a Media100 as well. it requires a boxfor power, USB , and all that but maybe that was stock from apple.

Love the display but wish I could put it on an arm.
