m2v re-export PLEASE HELP!
Hi, my problem is that I made an AVI movie file a while back that was 73 minutes long and 10 GB large. My external hard drive died, so I’m left with the m2v transcoded version of the film that is 4 GB large.
The quality looked ok… but now I’ve been asked to put the bonus features onto the same disc (there’s no other way around it), which means that I had to re-import the m2v into PP and re-export it again (but a little smaller to allow room for the bonus features). I was told that keeping it mpeg2 wouldn’t degrade the quality… so I tried “mgeg2” instead of “mgeg2-DVD” (m2v) so that the audio and video would be one file (because I don’t know if there’s a way to link up already-separated audio/video in ENCORE?). The new file was 3 GB, and looked good in some parts, and completely unacceptable in other parts. Very frustrating!
My question is. What is the best format, and settings to export a 4 GB (m2v) movie to about a 3 GB movie without losing (too much) quality?
I’m open to ANY ideas.
Thanks for your help, as it would be very welcomed and appreciated!
