    Hope someone can clarify

As I read around I read articles that say the m2t files are too compressed to edit with in vegas and we should convert down using an intermediary format for editing.

I have a 2.6g machine and an hc9 cam and wanted to get pro 9.
Is this combo powerful enough to capture and edit the native m2t format?

What happens when this is rendered, does the m2t wrapper come off somehow and moves to a basic mpeg2 or what?

    A 2.6g what?
    Duo Core, Quad core, ???
I’ve edited raw HDV footage on a low end Dell core with no problems at all.
If you were talking about an AVCHD camcorder, then I’d say yes to intermediates but, as long as you have a reasonably powerful computer, HDV footage shouldn’t be an issue.
