    Hello,

Strangest thing that has ever happened to me in Vegas! (That sentence could be interpreted in different ways…)

I import a specific media clip, yet the media is different in the Vegas timeline! Different length (only 21 frames long instead of 3 minutes), different footage (audio may be from the clip, but video is not). This only happens to one of the clips.

The clip is a .m2ts that I used AVCHD UpShift to convert to .m2t. Both the .m2ts and .m2t play correctly in Windows Media Player. Yet I import the .m2t to Vegas and in both the trimmer and timeline the clip is incorrect.

I tried re-upshifting. The original clip has been deleted from the camera card.

    Thank you for any advice.

There is no way getting around this using Vegas, you can either
use Handbrake or Total video converter (Recommended by a user
    with the same issue)
and convert it to a format friendly to
    Vegas, eg: mp4 or mov

    I’ll try those programs.

Why did this happen so randomly?

Thank you for your quick response!

.m2t files are limited to 4GB size due to old Fat32 file structure. Use a video conversion tool capable of converting your old .m2t files to .dv for best results. Not sure why Vegas had to ditch several formats if size was an issue… they could have given options rather than mystery.
