The current release does support playback of ProRes Proxy files. If you want to learn more about the next update you can join the webinar scheduled for tomorrow…

    Thanks Flo,
So the current version supports playback.
But, I am assuming I cannot capture Pro Res Proxy in M100?
    What time is the webinar?

The info about the webinar is at https://www.media100.com. And yes, ProRes Proxy playback means being able to play back (and not to acquire) clips in ProRes proxy codec.

Would the latest AppleProResCodec.component for Final Cut 7 have to be installed in Library/Quicktime for playback to work in Media 100 Suite? I assume it wouldn’t work if it were not there. Would that codec work for playback with M100 Suite 1.1.3 in Leopard 10.5.8? Or would it be limited to the older codec that only includes 422 and 422HQ?

No, it does not. The playback components for ProRes are included in the standard QuickTime install; I can´t remember which version of QuickTime started this, but I think it was 7.6 or 7.5. You can look at the Media 100 info screen (in the “About Media 100” window) to see which codecs and hardware options are available. Most likely some of the ProRes codecs are shown as “Playback Only”
