M R Card Reader, Transcend
Bought the M R card reader and the Transcend 16g Class 6 card. But will not format in my EX 3. According to my videographer…”After loading the card and turn on the camera, the 1st message says ” Media needs to be formatted” I press execute and the 2nd message says ” Media Error, Media A needs to be restored”
He has tried this in camera and media modes.Help!

Are you able to restore it?I have several Transcend 16 gig Class 6 SDHC cards and they all work properly.I noticed with some other brands (Patriot 16 gig SDHC) that I needed to try the format process twice to get those cards to format but not with any of the Transcend cards. Perhaps this is not a real Transcend card as some people have said there are counterfeits out there.
What is the serial number and firmware version for your EX3?

as far as I know, the EX3 doesn´t need any firmware to recognize the MxR combo, just the EX1 … I just received my MxR adapters and after format my 2 Sandisk Ultra II once (EX3), I was able to start shooting…..

I have 3 early EX3’s and they came with 1.02_0078 firmware and they should not need any update like the early EX1’s did. The OP states this doesn’t work with his EX3. I just wonder if he hasn’t tried to restore and stopped.MP

On Monday I’m going to Bangkok to get the Firmware update done (the adaptors are on the way).
How can I check that the Firmware have been properly updated?
Michael: I wish I could order the Flash cards in the USA. I wouldn’t be ripped-off, but the shipping would be very expensive.
