Luma shift DVCproHD codec and Kona LHe
Just having a bit of a play with our facilities new FCP HD rig. Captured some 1080i 29.97fps HDCam usinf the DVCproHD 1080i Capture preset.
When playing back from the timeline the picture looks pretty grim (stepping, some odd orangey colours in highlights) and also drops luma levels when you play. Hit the space bar to stop and it lightens up, quite a lot. This happens in the viewer as well as on the monitor (V Expensive Sony BVM tube) I know this was a problem with blackmagic cards when you had overlays on the viewer so I made sure they were off. Kona drivers 1.2, FCP5.0.4, latest QT, g5 quad. Any thoughts? Hoping to use DVCproHD as an offline codec.
