    Just a thought – given that the macbook pro is PCI Express based, will it be possible in the future to run the new multibridges with it? Obviously it would need some kind of express card but it would really whip an IO for mobile use.

    I think is not possible at uncompressed HD because the hard disk is so slow (and there’s only one express card), but with SD or with the compressed codec DVCPRO HD it’s no so dificult… only a converter between the conector of multibridge and the express card… wait wait wait…

    “PCI Express based” just means that the ATI graphics adapter (the thing that connects to the MacBook’s LCD screen) is hardwired to a PCI Express bus. But there are no slots for PCIe cards or anything like that. Just the ExpressCard slot.

    ExpressCard is PCI Express. Just like CardBus is PCI. Storage throughput is the problem.
