  LTO-7 – real world pricing, finally!

  Hi Folks,

  We’ve now received final pricing from HPE for the LTO-7 products and have been able to set our kit pricing. As with all of our solutions, the kits include everything needed to start working right out of the box.

  Tapes, while still steep, are far more believable than IBM’s $400 announcement. Our 1-9 price is $150. Most other vendors are showing up in that same range.

  Fortunately the price bump for the hardware wasn’t the expected $2,000. Our pricing for LTO-7 versions of our standalone desktop and rack mount units are around $1,200 more than the LTO-6 equivalents. The automation solutions are slightly higher, at $1,500 more than the LTO-6 equivalent.

  Units will be available for shipping in Mid-January.
