    Hi guys,
Anyone know if I will have any issues using an Atto H680 SAS card on a MacPro 2,1 system ?

I would be archiving media from the MAcPro’s 2 internal drives (RAID0) to the LTO5 unit, via BRU PE software (LTFS).

Would this old 2,1 have the same speeds as a newer 2012 MacPro in regards to LTO archiving (ie 32bit vs 64bit and faster bus speeds etc.)?

    Cheers,

A 2,1 will work fine. You will need to run the EFI Configuration utility to insure that the H680’s slot is at least an x4 lane slot, but other wise you’ll be fine. We actually test on an original 1,1 running 10.4.11 as our base model test environment.
