L&T mts files, 5 minute length limit
After browsing the forum extensively I decided to start yet another post on the mts log and transfer issue.
When i Log and Transfer only the files shorter than 5 minutes will finish. Longer files will seem to work, but right at the very end it stalls, and i get an unknown error message.
Does anyone know what is happening here, or is the only solution to convert the files using an external program?

The two most likely culprits for file size limitation is FAT32 formatted drives or you have the maximum file size limit parameter in System Preferences set too low. Untick the ‘Limit capture/export file size ‘ option and see if that fixes it.

I believe you are right, as my other (smaller) external drive gave no problems. I’ll search for info if I can remove this FAT32 formating…
Do you know if all big drives have this? (I need at least 1 tb)best regards,

Drive formatting is something to do before any data goes on. Reformatting erases the drive. When you buy a drive, first task is to check how the drive is formatted and reformat if necessary.
For FCP media, HFS+ non journaled seems to be the recommended around here.
