L&T for 5D Mark lll Footage
Hi Everybody,
After 4 projects in FCPX, I returned – what a nostalgia – to FCP7 for a performance edit.
The footage was shot on 2 Canon 5D Mark lll Cameras. The cards were copied completely correct,
since I shot it myself and transferred it myself – control freak about this one.
But unfortunately, the L&T Window refuses to recognise the footage – error message for invalid card structure.
I have all the updated version of Canon Plugs for FCP installed.Any idea? For now I transcoded in Compressor, but I’d still would be curious why there is that issue.

L&T doesn’t work with the Mark 3 for some reason. The structure is slightly different, and Canon didn’t update the driver to include the Mark 3, since it was released after FCP 7 was discontinued.

Exactly, what I thought.
I had the same Shebang with Canon C300 footage, where I had to go back to my MPB to L&T, cause the new OS 7 and higher did not have the plug in anymore for Canon Footage, only up to 10.6.8.
That’s the moment, you realise, that the world really abounded my FCP7 Legacy baby. Sniff. 🙁Sascha Engel

Have you tried the free 5DtoRGB? I’m a user and have no affiliation with the company. Does the best conversion I’ve seen. There is a paid Batch version that lets you batch a whole card.
It is worth a look. It’s how I get my footage into FCP 7.0.3.

Yeah, I know it. Thanx. It’s a great piece of software, but I have only the free version and no money right now to invest.

I Have done transfer of Mark III in L&T. It’s posible but you must Have the latest drivers installed.
