I have a movie on my timeline with an audio track. I have laid some short audio clips over the top of certain parts of the
    original audio.
Can any wise member advise on how I can go about lowering the volume of the new audio clips in order to get them at about the same volume as the original audio.

    Thanks in advance

Place the position bar over the audio clip and go to audio clip mixer and adjust the slider to get the desired volume. Playback from the previous clip to make sure the volumes are a good match.
