Lower thirds, half an upper third, and maybe PA?
I am doing instructional video on Vegas Pro 9a. I am using the Text Generator to create subtitles (in English for the hearing impaired, and also in different languages).
One of my hearing impaired members suggested that I put a black background behind the subtitles, in order to make them easier to read. Would this be a ‘lower third’? And what is the best way to do this? I have Production Assistant, but have not used it yet. Is this a job for PA, or should I use a feature that is native to Vegas?
Also, someone suggested that when I show Scripture quotations, that I should put the chapter and verse in a small black box in the upper-left-hand corner of the screen, so viewers can tell at a glance what passage they are reading. Would this be an ‘upper third’? And how would I get a small ‘upper third’ in the upper-left-hand corner of the screen, without cutting off too much screen real estate?
Thank you all for your help. CC is a great service.
