Lower Field First?
I make spots for tv every week and now and then I get specs from a station asking for full 1920×1080 with Lower Field First. I always just ignore that because based on what I’ve learned, that’s just not done. But I keep getting specs for that. Can anyone explain this?
Sorry, but I couldn’t find a more appropriate section in this forum to ask this. I use AE to make the spots so I thought I’d try asking here.

People are, for some reason, making up stupid specs. When you get some specs that the codec in question can’t handle, then it gets interesting.

That’s what I was thinking but wanted to make sure. It seems like every time I ask a station for specs, they send me their FTP info and ask “Is this what you want?”
Well, I’ve been ignoring it when they say lower field first and so far they’ve accepted them. I still thought I should look into it though.
