    It probably doesn’t matter; maybe you should deinterlace it so you don’t have to make that choice.

    it all depends on where you want the video to be played… Virtually every editing system these days is set for Lower field dominance, (lower field first), except, I believe, some Avid systems… If you are using either final cut or premiere, you will want it in lower field first, or lower field dominance.

    If you are going to be showing it on a computer screen only, do as has been said, that is, deinterlace the footage, as your computer screen does not work in fields, but is progressive.
