  Lower 3rd Renders and Settings Question

  Hi,

  I am in the process of taking over several projects from another editor’s machine.

  The project involves some green-screen work and cutting in VO and SOTs. It’s a basic “news minute update” type of piece.

  I noticed that on the green screen parts of the unrendered timeline I get the standard “UNRENDERED” blue screen when I play it BUT whenever it plays over VO bits that have a lower 3rd I can see the VO just fine, but not the chyron. When I stop down the Chyron is there.

  I am just wondering what settings the other editor used to get FCP to “ignore” the unrendered lower third and sadly calling him and asking is not really an option.

  the chyron is a .MOV file that was made in AE if that helps.
