I am running vegas 6 on my dell dimension xps. Even though I am using a firewire cable, the picture quality is still grainy. Even less then video cassette quality. How can I fix this? Please help. I need this fixed soon.

DV video is transfered from the DV camera to your computer so the footage probably looks grainy playing from the camera. If this is not the case then you may have another problem.

Since you mention firewire, I’m assuming you are capturing DV tapes via firewire into DV-AVI files. If that’s the case, it is the equivalent of a “file copy” from tape to hard drive. What is put on the hard drive is EXACTLY what was on the tape.

Now, how about more details as to this “low quality”? Where are you seeing it? Have you applied any effects? Is your “quality” slider on 100%? When previewing, are you getting full framerates? What is your preview setting on? Etc…
