    Hi All-

When playing clips from the XDCam Transfer “Player” area, the audio level is fine. Once viewed in QT and/or imported into FCP, the levels drop to an inaudible level. What is weird is that the volume meters display as though its the appropriate level. I tried playing other clips in QT and FCP and they play fine. Any ideas as to what is going on during the process between XDCam Transfer and QT??

    Thank you

    Todd

All XDCAM Transfer does is re-wrap the files to .MOV. Nothing can happen that I know of.

Your problem lies elsewhere. Could be a phase cancelation issue in your recording. If the meters are playing as if levels should be louder that’s often a phase related issue. Turn off one channel in FCP and see if it gets louder. You can also check phase in SoundtrackPro.
