Capturing BetaCam SP audio and video, I can go to Log and Capture/Clip Settings, set audio gain to .9 and get FCP meter levels of -1 to -3 peaks while playing the Beta tape. When I capture the clip, audio plays back at -16 to -18. Audio waveform is very small in Viewer.

It seems as though FCP is ignoring audio gain levels set before capture and going back to lowest possible gain setting during capture. Adding +12 db to each clip brings the clips up to about -6, with little sign of audio degradation.

    How do I fix this?
